New CEO, new challenges

On 30th June, the General Meeting of Shareholders of Kolejowe Zakłady Nawierzchniowe “Bieżanów” entrusted Rafał Leszczyński, a current member of the management board, with the position of the company’s CEO. After completing his full term mandate, the previous CEO, Ryszard Leszczyński, took over the Deputy CEO position.

Leading the Company and the KZN Bieżanów Group securely during the investment boom period, coordination of activities and strengthening the holding’s potential as well as increasing the role of export in the organization’s portfolio – these are the main tasks of the new CEO of the Kolejowe Zakłady Nawierzchniowe “Bieżanów”. The previous CEO remains a member of the management board and will be in charge of company development. Another person appointed as a member of the management board, for the subsequent term, is Barbara Król – in charge of the company’s finances.

The purpose of these changes, also those of a generational nature, introduced by the General Meeting of Shareholders, is to create a management structure that is more efficient and responsive to market incentives. “Our company and the capital group is facing exciting development opportunities, the result of which is to increase its share of railway surfaces on the Polish and foreign rail markets, further technological development and active participation in building solid foundations for the entire industry.” says the new CEO of the Kolejowe Zakłady Nawierzchniowe “Bieżanów”.

Since July 2014, Rafał Leszczyński has been a member of the management board of KZN “Bieżanów”, he was in charge of production and then also trade policy. He graduated from the Faculty of Management at the University of Economics in Poznań in business management. During his studies he acted as the President of the “NBNet” Internet Lovers Society (Stowarzyszenie Miłośników Internetu), which provided its members with access to the network. He joined KZN “Bieżanów” immediately after graduation. For 13 years he worked at the company in IT, controlling, finance, production and trade, participating in the implementation of most of the key changes in the company. Privately, he is interested in psychology and philosophy. He is married with two children.
