Innovative technology for the production, logistics, installation and maintenance of prefabricated tram turnouts in blocks

A research and development project carried out by the consortium of KZN Rail and Kolejowe Zakłady Nawierzchniowe “Bieżanów”. The expected outcomes of the project include high-quality prefabrication of key elements of tram track systems, a significant reduction in construction time, also thanks to comprehensive logistics solutions, and enabling efficient replacement of worn rail infrastructure.

Total project value: PLN 8,607,518.35; including EU funding from the European Regional Development Fund: PLN 3,443,026.34.

Innovative technology for the longitudinal transport and unloading of prefabricated turnouts in blocks

The aim of the project is to develop a technology enabling the safe and rapid transport of prefabricated turnouts in blocks and their unloading on single-track railway lines. The expected outcomes of the project include improved safety during the transport and unloading of turnouts, a significant acceleration of turnout transport and, consequently, a reduction in costs, as well as enabling the unloading of turnouts without occupying adjacent tracks.

The total value of the project amounts to PLN 12,423,082.93, of which PLN 5,011,357.85 is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund under the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014–2020. The project is carried out under the competition of the National Centre for Research and Development entitled Fast Track / Competition No. 2/1.1.1/2019.
