Distinction of the Minister of Economy

On 27 October, the distinctions of the Minister of Economy were awarded in Katowice for outstanding achievements in the rail transport industry. The event opened the 5th Railway Congress.

The fifth edition of the Railway Congress took place on 28 October 2015. The Congress began on the previous night, with the Minister of Economy distinctions awarding ceremony during the Railway Business Forum event. The businesses that received the distinction had been nominated by RBF for outstanding achievements in the railway transport industry. The distinction for KZN Bieżanów was received by the Chairman of the Board of the company, Ryszard Leszczyński. Kolejowe Zakłady Nawierzchniowe (KZN) “Bieżanów” actively participate in the largest railway infrastructure investment projects in Poland. KZN Bieżanów has obtained numerous certificates confirming the high quality of their products, including certificates for turnouts dedicated to 160 km/h, 200 km/h and 250 km/h train speed. In recent years, the company has become a permanent feature on the list of 500 most innovative Polish businesses. Growth through innovation has made it possible for KZN Bieżanów to reach such milestones as introducing the bainitic cast steel to the Polish turnout market, constructing a turnout with a movable point crossing, and developing from scratch the advanced technology of turnout logistics based on the specialised Switcher train cars (showcased at the TRAKO 2015 trade fair).
