KZN “Bieżanów” is a founder of scholarships
On May 21, 2018, in the Senate Room, official agreements on funded scholarships were signed between the Dean of the Civil Engineering Faculty of the Cracow University of Technology and seven railway companies. KZN “Bieżanów” was among the entities supporting the development of railway personnel.
The agreement on behalf of Kolejowe Zakłady Nawierzchniowe “Bieżanów” was signed by the Vice-Chairman – Ryszard Leszczyński. The university was represented by the Dean of the Civil Engineering Faculty – Andrzej Szarata, PhD. Eng., Professor at the Cracow University of Technology. Among those who attended the meeting was the Councillor of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, and at the same time representative of the Ministry of Infrastructure – Łukasz Smółka. Prof. Jan Kazior, PhD. Eng., Rector of the Cracow University of Technology also attended the meeting.
“As a company that has been a co-founder the rail infrastructure market for over 70 years, we feel particularly responsible for the education and development of new personnel in this industry.” says Ryszard Leszczyński. “The agreement with the University of Technology concerns the funding of at least two special scholarships, awarded to students for the entire duration of their speciality training. The condition for receiving the scholarship will be a high student grade average and a covering letter in which the applicants convince us that this is where the future of our industry lies.” adds the Vice-Chairman.
Representatives of PKP PLK, Budimex, PNUIK, STRABAG, Track Tec and ZUE also signed scholarship agreements similar to those of KZN “Bieżanów”.
